    New Toyota Yaris unveiled ahead of New York Auto Show

    Set to be unveiled at the 2019 New York Auto Show later this month is the new Toyota Yaris that looks more like the Mazda 2.

    This comes after a joint venture between Toyota and Mazda. The new Yaris is scheduled to go on sale firstly in the U.S before being sold to other countries, SA is one of them.

    Two trim levels are set to be rolled out as LE and XLE. The base trim features 16-inch wheels, push-button starting and fog lights while the XLE adds LED headlights, climate control, moisture sensitive wipers and a seven-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Smartphone compatibility.

    Safety comes courtesy of six airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Brake Override and Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control.

    Power comes from the familiar 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine with 82 kW and 145 Nm of torque accessed via a six-speed automatic transmission.

    Further details will be revealed at the New York Auto Show.
