Toyota’s Urban Cruiser receives tech and style upgrades

The Toyota Urban Cruiser has been a strong player in the B-SUV segment since its launch in 2021. Now, it is getting a set of upgrades to keep it fresh and competitive. These changes apply to both the XS and XR models, adding more value and comfort for buyers.
What’s new on both models
Both the XR and XS versions of the Urban Cruiser now come with:
- A rear wiper for better visibility in different weather conditions
- A larger infotainment screen, now 9 inches instead of 7, for a better multimedia experience
- A leather-wrapped steering wheel replacing the previous urethane finish
- Two rear Type-C USB ports for faster charging and convenience
Upgrades for the XS model
The XS variant, known for its affordability, gets a few style and practicality updates:
- A luggage shelf with strings for better boot organization
- Alloy wheels replacing the old steel setup, giving the car a more stylish look
Upgrades for the XR model
The range-topping XR receives more premium features, particularly around lighting and safety:
- LED headlamps replacing halogen units for better visibility and a modern appearance
- Automatic Light Control and a Follow-Me-Home function for added convenience and safety
What’s under the hood
Power comes from the familiar 1.5-litre engine, paired with either a manual or an automatic transmission. It remains a reliable and efficient choice, staying true to Toyota’s reputation for dependability.
