SAIC Audi (an automobile manufacturing firm based in Anting, Shanghai) has just unveiled the Audi Q6 for the Chinese market. The Q6 is based on the VW Atlas and is now officially the biggest Audi in the German manufacturer’s stable.

    Large and in charge

The Audi Q6 is 5,099 mm long, 2,014 mm wide and 1,784 mm high which makes it slightly bigger than the Audi Q7 but now holds the plaque for the biggest Audi. In terms of design, the Q6 gets a massive octagonal front grille, slim-looking headlights and slim tail lights spanning the width of the rear of the car.

    Inside

The Audi Q6 comes in either a six or seven-seat configuration. It gets a 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit. Audi provides it with its Audi AI Pro technology, which includes intelligent parking assistance, full-speed adaptive cruise control, and other driver-assist features.

    Engine line-up

It will be available with two engine options. The first one is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder that produces 195kW/400. The second engine is a 2.5-litre six-cylinder that produces 220kW/500Nm. Both come standard with Audi’s Quattro all-wheel drive system.

The Audi Q6 is one of the models that is exclusively built for the Chinese market such as the Audi A7L and Audi Q5 e-tron.
