Ford’s Wildtrak grade has solely been available on the brand’s Ranger bakkie for many years until today. Ford New Zealand recently announced that the all-new Everest will get the Wildtrak treatment which means the new Everest Wildtrak will get similar styling and features of the new Ranger Wildtrak.

    Everest Wildtrak styling

Like the new Ranger Wildtrak its based on, the Everest Wildtrak sports a unique grille and bumper up front, 20-inch alloy wheels with Bolder Grey detailing. The bumper H-bar, grille surround, wheel lip mouldings, fender vents and mirror caps also are finished in Bolder Grey. Stylish and functional side steps feature steel inserts, while the alloy stand-off roof rails add a purposeful look and extra practicality for touring adventures. Wildtrak logos are included on the front doors, tailgate, and bonnet/hood.

Everest Wildtrak interior styling and features

Inside, the driver and front passenger seats benefit from 10- and 8-way power adjustment, heating and cooling functions and Wildtrak logos embroidered into the seat backs in Cyber Orange stitching. The ebony leather and Miko sueded seat trim and contrast stitching carry over to the rear seats and centre armrest, while Cyber Orange also features on the instrument panel, doors, dash and e-shifter.

The high-tech cockpit is defined by the 12.4-inch fully digital instrument cluster and the portrait-oriented 12-inch touchscreen that controls Ford’s powerful Sync 4A infotainment system. Everest Wildtrak also features a ten-speaker stereo system and wireless device charging as standard and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

    Everest Wildtrak powertrain

Powering the new Everest Wildtrak is Ford’s new 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine making 184 kW and 600 Nm. It’s paired to a 10-speed automatic transmission and will be available in New Zealand from July 2023.

It’s great seeing the Blue Oval adding a bit of variety to their popular models. Meanwhile Ford South Africa is yet to confirm local availability of the Everest Wildtrak.
