    Stylish Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe unveiled

After a few teasers, Mercedes-Benz has finally revealed its new GLC Coupe set to go on sale before the end of the year.

The facelifted GLC Coupe duplicates some of its exterior changes from the GLC-Class we have reported about early this month such as a revised grille, new headlights and fascia up front. The rear gets a slightly tweaked diffuser, taillights and exhaust tips that are more prominent.

The interior gains a new multifunction steering wheel available in two flavours. There’s also a 12.3-inch display unit behind the steering wheel, the centre gains a smaller 10.25-inch touchscreen. Further down the center console you’ll see the rotary dial from the previous-generation GLC is gone – everything is operated now either through the steering wheel controls, the touchscreen, through voice commands, or via the gesture/movement recognition of the GLC’s MBUX Interior Assistant. Speaking of which, the GLC Coupe gets the benefit of the latest-generation MBUX system.

The GLC Coupe comes with a range of five turbocharged engines, two petrol and three diesel engines. There’s a GLC200 turbopetrol with 145 kW and 320 Nm and a GLC300 with 190 kW and 370 Nm, and both these engine options come paired with an electric motor which surges 10 kW and 150 Nm into the powertrain delivery for short periods when required.

The diesel options start at GLC200d with 120 kW of power and 360 Nm of torque. The GLC220d comes with 143 kW and 400 Nm and the range-topping GLC300 brings 180 kW and 500 Nm. Sadly, they do not come with the sophisticated means of energy recovery or electric drive.

In terms of transmission, the new GLC features a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels via Mercedes-Benz sophisticated 4MATIC system.

We’re expecting it to make its public debut at this year’s New York Auto Show before heading to our shores.
