    Meet the new Kia Grand Sedona, the world’s first “Grand Utility Vehicle”

    After teasing the arrival of the new Grand Sedona with a sketch last week, Kia has taken covers off the new Grand Sedona. Naturally, the car gains new looks and somewhat of a repositioning as Kia is billing it as the first Grand Utility Vehicle.

    The Grand Sedona takes design cues of a large American SUV but retains most of its “minivan” traits. Upfront, the new Grand Sedona gets its own fresh interpretation of the Kia tiger-nose grille as well as a new bumper and LED lights. Shorter front overhang and A-pillars are stretched back to accommodate a longer bonnet. This plus an extended wheelbase is said to provide more room in the cabin.

    Standing out on the side is a C-pillar with a chrome finish with a diamond pattern, A- and B-pillars been blacked out as it is similarly done in the new Sorento. At the back, new LED lights with an LED strip that runs from one side to the other features prominently and highlights the width of the car.

    Interior and engine specifications are yet to be provided.

    The above information relates to the Korean specification. The all-new Kia Grand Sedona is expected to make its South African debut in 2021
