Mercedes Benz South Africa is extending its product portfolio with the 53-series models of the CLS, E-Class Coupé and E-Class Cabriolet.

The E53 models are powered by an electrified 3.0 litre six-cylinder in-line engine with 320 kW and 520 Nm. Its EQ Boost starter generator temporarily delivers an additional output of 16 kW as well as 250 Nm of torque. It also powers the 48-volt on-board electrical system. The engine is paired with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G transmission.

Employing AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, the CLS 53 4MATIC+ accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and with the Driver’s Package reaches a top speed of 270 km/h, whilst the E 53 4MATIC+ Coupe and Cabriolet accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 and 4.5 seconds respectively, and with the Driver’s Package reaches a top speed of 270 km/h.

To cater for all driving conditions, the AMG 53s employ five DYNAMIC SELECT drive modes. Independently of the DYNAMIC SELECT drive programs, the driver has the option of pressing the “M” button to switch directly to manual mode.

Exclusive Edition 1 for the CLS 53 4MATIC+

Mercedes Benz have made the exclusive Edition 1 available for the CLS 53 4MATIC+. The Edition 1 comes equipped with the COPPER ART interior design which includes numerous highlights in a fine copper colour. The leather upholstery in black Nappa also features copper-coloured contrasting topstitching, as do the instrument panel, armrests, centre console, door panels and piping on the floor mats.

    Pricing

    Mercedes-AMG CLS 53 4MATIC+: R1,491,600.00
    Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ (Coupé): R1,311,700.00
