New Kia Sorento takes Kia design language to greater heights

After the all-new Kia Sorento leaked online, Kia has decided to officially lift the veil off the flagship SUV ahead of the official debut on 3 March 2020. Kia may be trying to get ahead of the story but we are not complaining. The new Kia Sorento takes Kia’s design language to the next level.

    New design

As with Kia’s baby SUV, the Seltos, the Sorento employs a new interpretation of KIA’s hallmark ‘tiger nose’ grille. The new grille wraps around the integrated headlamps on each side. The headlamps themselves feature a new ‘tiger eye’ LED daytime running light.

The shape of the new Sorento is not only a new leap forward but pays homage to previous generation. It actually bears a striking resemblance to the second generation model (2010-2015).

    A bigger Sorento

We do not have the figures yet but Kia says the new Sorento has a longer wheel base and its proportions have been adapted to make the car appear longer with shorter front and rear overhangs. Sounds like more room for occupants. Having three rows, this will be of huge benefit to the Sorento.

    Interior

The new interior appears to adopt a similar instrument cluster and infotainment set up as that which is found in the all new Seltos. Kia also promise a new design, incorporating cutting-edge infotainment, supreme practicality, and premium-grade materials. This will be courtesy of metallic trims, leather upholstery and embossed wood-effect surfaces. The interior will also integrate other technologies to enhance connectivity, driver assistance and infotainment.

The new Sorento will make its debut on 3 March 2020 at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show.
