2022 Honda Civic sedan prototype revealed

A few days after teasers of the upcoming Honda Civic sedan surfaced on the internet, Honda has unveiled the 11th generation Civic sedan in prototype form. The best-selling car in America was launched on Twitch, the world’s leading live streaming platform.

    Exterior design

“Man-maximum, machine-minimum” (M/M). A philosophy used on past Civics has now been revisited by stylists and engineers at Honda. The new Honda Civic sedan prototype looks premium and sporty thanks minimal use of sharp creases, oval exhaust tips, slim headlights, gloss black accents, contrasting mirror caps, an integrated rear spoiler and a new exterior paint called Solar Flare Panel.

    Interior design

The M/M philosophy is carried over inside the Civic sedan prototype. It looks clean & uncluttered and it features a honeycomb mesh design accent across the dashboard, which conceals visually busy air-vents. Sitting atop the dashboard is a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display flanked by a digital instrument cluster. Honda promises the new Civic will feature multiple Civic-first technologies.

    Performance and Safety features

Honda is mum on the new Civics powertrains, but they promise the body structure will be more rigid resulting in driving refinement, ride quality and sporty handling. New and improved safety features include driver assistive technologies, multiple newly designed airbags and a new version of the manufacturer’s Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure with improved occupant and pedestrian collision protection.

    Availability

Honda is yet to reveal when the production version will be unveiled.
