    BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupe range spruced up with Mzansi Edition package

    Last year BMW South Africa added a dash of local flavour to the X3 range with the Mzansi Edition package which later filtered down to the 3 Series sedan range. Subsequently the 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé are the latest models from the blue and white roundel to get the local Mzansi Edition treatment.

    BMW 1 Series Mzansi Edition

    Stand out features on the BMW 118i and 128ti Mzansi Editions include the BMW M Sport package with high-gloss Shadow Line for the kidney grille and frame, front spoiler attachment, side sill details, and rear spoiler. Tailpipes are finished in Black Chrome, while the BMW 128ti Mzansi Edition adds a carbon rear diffuser. Both Ones are fitted with M Carbon mirror caps. The 1 Series Mzansi Edition models are also equipped with distinctive red M Sport brake callipers paired with 18-inch M light alloy wheels for the BMW 118i and 19-inch M light alloys for the BMW 128ti.

    BMW 118i and 128ti Mzansi Editions are available in Alpine White, and metallic colours Skyscraper Grey and Black Sapphire. Melbourne Red Metallic and Misano Blue Metallic can be specified for the 118i version, while the 128ti is also available in Storm Bay Blue Metallic.

    Mzansi Edition updates to the cabin include sport seats in a Trigon and Sensatec combination in black with M seat belts, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Panorama glass sliding roof, and Hi-Fi loudspeaker system for the 118i. The 128ti adds sport seats finished in a black and red cloth and Sensatec combination.

    BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé Mzansi Edition

    Likewise, the 2 Series Gran Coupé Mzansi Edition updates include BMW’s M Sport package with high-gloss Shadow Line details for the kidney grille and frame, and rear tailgate spoiler. Tailpipes are finished in Black Chrome, and M Carbon mirror caps enhance the vehicle’s side profile. Rounding off the exterior updates are the Mzansi Edition’s signature red M Sport brakes, paired with 19-inch M light alloy wheels with double spoke design elements.

    The BMW 218i Mzansi Edition is available in Alpine White, and metallic colours Skyscraper Grey, Black Sapphire, Melbourne Red and Misano Blue. Interior appointments are updated to reflect black Sport seats and M seat belts, alongside BMW Live Cockpit Professional, a Panorama glass sliding roof and Hi-Fi loudspeaker.

    Mzansi Edition models performance

    The three editions are powered by familiar BMW mills ranging from the 103kW/220Nm three-cylinder 1.5-litre unit in the 118i and 218i Mzansi Editions, to the 2.0-litre engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology in the BMW 128ti Mzansi Edition that develops 180kW and peak torque of 380Nm.
