Volkswagen SA announces Golf 8 GTI Jacara Edition

The Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI, which was launched in South Africa last year, is now available with the iconic Clark Plaid Jacara fabric seats which feature a check pattern design.

The classic checked design was produced by the first woman to work in the Volkswagen design department, Gunhild Liljequist. For Liljequist, black was a sporty enough colour, but she was also looking for a second colour with a powerful and sophisticated effect and thus settled on the colour red. That marked the origin of what is now known as the ‘Clark Plaid’ pattern which is still available in the Golf GTI; eight generations later.

The Golf 8 GTI Jacara Edition is now available at Volkswagen dealers and retails for R16 700 less when compared to the Golf GTI derivative with the leather seats option.

    Pricing

    Golf 8 GTI Jacara Edition 2.0 TSI 180kW DSG R716 500

    Golf 8 GTI 2.0 TSI 180kW DSG (with leather seats) R733 200

    The Golf GTI comes standard with a 3 year/120 000km warranty, 5 year/ 90 000km EasyDrive Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km.
