Earlier on today we came across an Instagram post by Toyota South Africa advertising a new Hilux derivative called the Raider X. Upon further investigation we found the new  Raider X is a limited edition, however it is unclear how many units Toyota SA will produce or how long the automaker plans to sell it. Perhaps an official press release will shed some light.

    Exterior

The new Hilux Raider X gets unique exterior styling features like newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels running on 265-65R17 tyres, Hilux GR-Sport inspired black over fender protectors with red inserts, ‘Raider X’ badging on the front fenders and tailgate, a black sports bar, a chrome rear bumper and front grille, halogen headlights and LED fog lights.

    Interior and performance

Inside, the Raider X gets fabric seats and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Powering the Hilux Raider is a 2.4-litre turbodiesel engine developing 110kW and 400Nm. It’s either paired to a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed auto transmission.

    Pricing

    Hilux Raider X 4×4 – R674,800

    Hilux Raider X 4×4 – R704,300
