Isuzu is getting ready to venture into the EV market after the automaker recently unveiled an EV concept based on the facelifted D-Max. The BEV D-Max concept will make its first public appearance at this year’s Bangkok International Motor Show on the 27th of March. The final product will be launched first in Europe followed by Australia, Thailand and other markets around the world.

Performance
The D-Max EV Concept is powered by a dual electric motor setup on called e-Axles. The motors have a total system output of 130kW (Front Motor 40kW / Rear Motor 90kW) of power and 325Nm (Front Motor 108N.m / Rear Motor 217N.m) of torque. It has a top speed of “over 130km/h” and power is channelled through a full-time 4WD system and it has a small sized 66.9kWh battery pack. Isuzu hasn’t shared the claimed range, but with that capacity we should expect around 300 to 400km range.
Payload and towing capacity remain unchanged at 1 000 kg and 3.5 tonnes respectively.

Styling
The EV D-max sets itself apart with a bunch of ‘EV styling’. The most prominent differentiator is up front where the D-Max EV Concept sports a patterned closed grille with light blue accents on the chevrons and inside the LED headlights cluster. More blue trimmings are found on the wheel hub caps.
We do not have images of the interior but we should expect more blue trimmings throughout the cabin and EV specific menus on the semi-digital cluster and infotainment system
