ISUZU Motors South Africa is enhancing its D-MAX Single Cab range with the introduction of the LS model.

    Exterior

The LS trim differs from the L models with 17-inch alloy wheels replacing steel rims. It also features colour-coordinated front fascia, mirror covers, and door handles. Additionally, power-adjustable mirrors and standard halogen front fog lamps improve visibility for night-time driving.

    Interior

Driving for long periods will be easy with the addition of cruise control as a standard feature on the new LS models. Additionally, the seven-inch infotainment screen includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility for smooth smartphone integration.

    Safety

The extensive range of basic safety elements found in all D-MAX Single Cab models consists of ABS brakes with EBD and BAS, Electronic Stability Control with Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Trailer Sway Control, and dual front airbags.

    Powertrains

Like the L models, the 1.9 Ddi LS is available in High Rider 4×2 configuration with a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, or a 4×4 model with the six-speed automatic. The 1.9 Ddi turbodiesel engine is well-known for its fuel efficiency, affordable maintenance, and longevity. It generates 110 kW at 3 600 r/min and 350 Nm of torque between 1 800 to 2 600 r/min.

The choice of the 3.0 Ddi LS Single Cab is available for more challenging tasks, with options for 4×2 or 4×4, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. The 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine produces 140 kW at 3 600 r/min and peak torque of 450 Nm between 1 600 and 2 600 r/min.

Further upgrades to the model range

In addition to the Single Cab enhancements, ISUZU has introduced several specification upgrades across the Extended and Double Cab models. Notable improvements include the standard fitment of running boards for easier cabin access, blackout treatment for B-pillars in the LSE Extended Cab, and partial leather seats with eight-way power adjustment for driver and front passenger seats in the upmarket LSE models.

Moreover, ISUZU has expanded its safety features by introducing the far side airbag and enhancing comfort and convenience with the Remote Engine Start function, now available on select models within the D-MAX range.

All new ISUZU D-MAX models are sold as standard with a comprehensive five-year/120 000 km warranty and roadside assistance, as well as a five-year unlimited distance anti-corrosion warranty. In addition, a five-year/90 000 km service plan.
