    Volkswagen South Africa recently announced the expansion of the Polo Sedan model range with the addition of the 85kW 1.0 TSI engine. The new engine will be offered with the Life and Style derivatives.  

    Polo Sedan Life and Style features

    The Polo Sedan Life comes standard with keyless entry and start, a rear view camera, a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless mobile charging, wireless App-Connect, power adjustable and folding exterior mirrors, climatronic air conditioning, ambient lighting, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, front fog lamps and cornering lights, a chrome package and 16-inch Scimitar alloy wheels. The Polo Sedan Life is further equipped with Hill Start Assist and a leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel with shifting paddles. 

    In addition to the standard features of the Life derivative, the top derivative of the model range, the Style is offered with an 8-inch digital cockpit, rain sensor, tilt and slide sunroof including leatherette seats in black colour plus two-piece folding rear seat bench, side and curtain airbags, front and rear center airbags including 17-inch Tritz Alloy wheels. The Polo Sedan is available with an option of five exterior colours: solid paint (Candy White) and four metallic colours (Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Grey, Reflex Silver and Rising Blue)

    1.0 TSI engine details

    The 1.0 TSI engine delivers 85kW of power and 178Nm of torque at 1 750 to 4 500 rpm. It takes 11.5 seconds to reach 100km/h and has a top speed of 190km/h. Its claimed fuel consumption is 6.3l/100km. 

    Pricing and warranty

    Polo Sedan Life 1.0 TSI 85kW 6-Speed Tiptronic – R421,100

    Polo Sedan Style 1.0 TSI 85kW 6-Speed Tiptronic – R454,900

    The Polo Sedan comes standard with a 3 year/120 000km warranty, a 3 year/ 45 000km EasyDrive Service Plan and a 12-year anti-corrosion warranty. The service interval is 15 000km. Customers have the option to extend EasyDrive Maintenance and EasyDrive Service Plans up to 10 years/ 300 000km.
