Renault India has lifted the covers off the new Renault Kiger, its popular sub-four-metre SUV, now refreshed with bolder looks, smarter technology, enhanced safety and a wider range of trims. Developed under the French brand’s “Rethink Performance” philosophy, the new Kiger blends value, versatility and fun-to-drive dynamics, making it a strong contender in the compact SUV segment.

Exterior – bold, confident and expressive

On the outside, the new Renault Kiger immediately makes a statement with its bold front fascia which now wears Renault’s new brand identity. The squared-off stance, extended chin, and prominent rear skid graphics emphasise its SUV DNA. A new Oasis Yellow paint option, treated with a special mica finish, is the headline colour and pairs beautifully with a reflective black grille, metallic grey skid plate, and sporty alloy wheels. Customers can also choose from seven colour options, including another new shade – Shadow Grey – alongside favourites like Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Moonlight Silver, Stealth Black, and more.

Adding a touch of exclusivity, the TURBO badge has been specially treated, reinforcing the SUV’s performance-driven positioning while giving the Kiger a sportier, more premium aura.

Interior – comfort meets smart technology

Step inside and you’ll find a cabin that’s been reworked for comfort, convenience and modern tech. The new Kiger now features ventilated front seats with light leatherette upholstery, ensuring a cooler and more premium drive. Space remains one of Kiger’s strongest attributes thanks to its clever CMFA+ platform, which offers best-in-class rear knee room, ample cabin storage and a class-leading boot.

On the tech front, drivers are treated to an 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A 3D Arkamys surround sound system with 6 speakers elevates the in-car entertainment experience. Everyday convenience is boosted by a cooled glovebox, multiple USB charging points, rear AC vents, and thoughtful features like the ‘Belongings Take Away’ alert.

The new multi-view HD camera system makes manoeuvring in tight spaces far easier, while automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers add a welcome touch of sophistication.

    Safety and ADAS features

Renault has put occupant protection at the core of the new Kiger’s package. The SUV now comes with six airbags as standard, making it one of the safest offerings in its class. It also benefits from a suite of 21 standard safety features, including Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.

The Kiger is underpinned by the robust CMFA+ platform, engineered to absorb and distribute crash energy effectively. Other safety highlights include tyre pressure monitoring, pedestrian protection technology, and the added peace of mind from its multi-view camera setup.

    Powertrain

Under the bonnet, the new Renault Kiger offers two petrol engine options tailored to different customer needs. The headline unit is the refined 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, producing 100 hp (74 kW) and 160 Nm of torque, delivering spirited performance while maintaining excellent fuel efficiency. For those seeking an even more economical option, Renault also offers a 72 hp (53 kW) naturally aspirated engine with 96 Nm of torque.

Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual, Easy-R AMT, and an advanced X-Tronic CVT. The CVT stands out with its D-Step technology, eliminating the rubber-band effect and promising smoother, more natural acceleration.

To sweeten the deal further, Renault has applied Mirror Bore Coating technology – usually reserved for high-performance cars – to reduce engine friction, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance long-term durability.
