Mazda Southern Africa has pulled the covers off its updated flagship SUV – the CX-60. Enhancements made to the CX-60 include drive train noise reduction, improved steering characteristics, suspension and AWD system software re-calibrations.

Exterior – kodo design in its most premium form

The Mazda CX-60 is immediately recognisable thanks to its elegant yet athletic stance. True to the Kodo: Soul of Motion philosophy, the SUV’s exterior combines flowing lines with muscular proportions, delivering a commanding road presence. Every model in the line-up is fitted with 20-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic roof, and a power liftgate as standard.

Adding to the appeal, Mazda introduces a fresh new exterior colour – Zircon Sand Metallic – which gives the CX-60 a modern, sophisticated edge.

Interior – crafted for comfort and technology

Step inside, and the CX-60 welcomes you with a cabin that blends Japanese craftsmanship with modern luxury. Depending on trim, buyers can expect Nappa leather upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated seats, and a generous panoramic glass roof that floods the interior with natural light.

Mazda’s commitment to human-centric design shines through with its Driver Personalisation System – a first for the brand in South Africa. Using facial recognition, the car automatically adjusts the seating position, mirrors, climate control and infotainment preferences for each driver. Tech lovers will also appreciate the 12-inch infotainment display, wireless smartphone integration, and a crisp 12-speaker Bose sound system.

    Model range and powertrains

The CX-60 line-up offers three distinctive options:

2.5L Dynamic RWD – The entry point of the range, fitted with leather seats, panoramic roof and premium wheels.

2.5L Individual AWD – Adds all-wheel drive confidence plus the innovative Driver Personalisation System, 360-degree camera with see-through view, and enhanced safety features.

3.3L Takumi AWD MHEV – The flagship, powered by a 3.3-litre turbo diesel inline-six mild-hybrid, producing an impressive 187 kW and 550 Nm. With recalibrated AWD software, this variant ensures smooth power delivery and efficient fuel consumption.

    Pricing and warranty

    Here’s the full line-up pricing (September 2025):

    Mazda CX-60 2.5L Dynamic RWD – R706,700

    Mazda CX-60 2.5L Individual AWD – R888,700

    Mazda CX-60 3.3L Takumi AWD MHEV – R1,085,100

Mazda is backing the CX-60 with a comprehensive ownership package, including a 5-year unlimited kilometre warranty, service plan and roadside assistance. The SUV is also supported by Mazda’s Courtesy Program and the Assured Program with Guaranteed Future Value, giving buyers peace of mind and flexibility.
