As a youngster, I was a massive Toyota fan, and to now be racing under the Gazoo Racing banner feels surreal.
Over the past three years, I’ve been building a career around testing vehicles, creating content, and pursuing my passion for motoring. While I never expected an opportunity of this magnitude to come along so soon, it’s also something I’ve manifested and worked towards.
It’s amazing how dreams can come true when you focus on them and put in the work. Go for it.
Three rounds have been completed, and six races are now in the books. While we’d like more points on the board, I’m proud of what my teammate, Kumbirai Mtshakazi, and I have achieved so far.
Motorsport, like any sport, teaches you that success isn’t measured purely by results. Growth, sportsmanship, and how you conduct yourself matter just as much. One of the highlights of my first race weekend at Killarney International Raceway was having my partner, family, and friends there to share the experience. It’s a memory I will treasure forever.

Working alongside Kumbi throughout this campaign has been a blessing. I come from a strong sporting background, having played various sports and spent years dancing. I’ve always believed in the importance of having quality teammates.
He’s competitive and composed, but what stands out most is the way he handles both success and setbacks with humility and professionalism. Those are traits I genuinely admire in people.
As we head into Round 4 in Gqeberha, my focus is simple: apply the techniques I’ve learned and score more points. Knowing the techniques and applying them are two completely different things. I’ve been using every opportunity behind the wheel to refine my driving skills.
I’m also trying to find more time on a racing simulator so I can learn the upcoming circuit. It’s a tricky and technical track, and every bit of preparation helps.
One lesson I’ve learned is that I’ve probably been trying too hard. Overdriving, as the pros call it. Racing isn’t only about pushing harder; it’s about being smooth, staying calm, and driving smarter. Smooth is fast.

Being part of the GR Cup Media Championship has given me a whole new appreciation for motorsport. The preparation, pressure, and attention to detail required to compete at this level are incredible.
It’s also a reminder of how important Toyota Gazoo Racing’s investment in motorsport development is. By creating opportunities for young drivers and media professionals, it continues to play a major role in keeping the sport thriving.
The reality is that many of my competitors have more racing experience than I do, but every lap is an opportunity to learn and improve. I’m a quick learner, and I believe the results will come.
For now, the focus is on growth, consistency, and making the most of this incredible opportunity.
See you in Gqeberha?
