One of Suzuki Auto South Africa’s best-selling models is the popular S-Presso. The budget car recently received a mild update in India. It now features a new engine, new safety as well as convenience features.

    New engine

Powering the updated Suzuki S-Presso is the automaker’s new K-Series engine which debuted in the new Celerio. Like the new Celerio the 1.0-litre features Dual Jet, Dual VVT engine and Idle Start-Stop technology. At 49kW and 89Nm the new powerplant is slightly down on power and torque when compared to the outgoing engine.

The codenamed K10C 1.0-litre engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission or an AGS transmission. The latter features Electronic Stability Program (ESP) with Hill Hold Assist.

    Safety systems

On the safety side of things the new S-Presso features dual-airbags, ABS with ABD, pre-tensioner and force limiter front seatbelts with front seatbelt reminders, high-speed alert system and reverse parking cameras.

Suzuki Auto SA  is yet to announce the local availability of the updated S-Presso.
