Mercedes-AMG announced a bunch of cosmetic updates, an expanded list of standard features and a wide range of customization options for the AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-Door Coupé.

    Exterior updates

On the outside, the updated model is distinguished by numerous new design features. Up front, the striking front end borrows elements from the new AMG GT Coupé. These include a significantly wider air intake below the AMG-specific radiator grille. Vertical air ducts are integrated into the outside of the front apron.

In terms of body colour, customers can choose Opalite White Metallic as a new option. The wheel and upholstery ranges remain unchanged.

    Interior updates

Inside, the electric sunroof and a wireless smartphone charger between the rear seats are now standard features. The MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) was updated and now features redesigned, AMG-specific displays and individually configurable functions. In combination with the standard Burmester Surround Sound System or the optional Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System, Dolby Atmos brings a new sound experience to the car.

    Performance

The GT63 S E Performance 4Matic+ is still powered by a 4.0-litre V8 powerplant with a 48-volt starter generator paired to a 9-speed auto transmission. Thrown in the mix is a rear axle mounted 6.1 kWh battery pack, electric motor and an automated 2-speed transmission. Thanks to this unique concoction, which required expert knowledge from Formula One boffins, the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S E Performance 4Matic+ churns a mind-bending 620 kW and 1400 Nm.

According to Mercedes-AMG, this allows the high-performance 4-door coupé to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 316 km/h. Mercedes-AMG also claims the GT63 S E Performance 4Matic+ has an electric range of 12 km and in Electric mode, driving is possible from standstill up to 130 km/h.
