Audi has taken off the veil of their new RS 6 Avant GT. The design traces its roots back to the apprentice project RS 6 GTO concept in 2020, inspired by the legendary Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO race car from 1989. Twelve apprentices worked for six months on this project, showcasing how young talents can contribute to the company even during their apprenticeship.

    Exterior

Distinguishing itself from the RS 6 Avant performance, the RS 6 Avant GT features a front end finished entirely in high-gloss black, featuring vertical blades, pass-through roof edge spoiler, a new intake grille, 22-inch wheels in a distinctive design, and a powerful front splitter, contributing to its enhanced look. The RS 6 GT introduces a fully redesigned carbon fiber bonnet, fenders, and side skirts. Colour options for the RS 6 Avant GT include Arkona White, Nardo Gray, Chronos Gray Metallic, Madeira Brown Metallic, and Mythos Black Metallic.

    Decal Options

Customers have the option to choose exclusive decals in two colour combinations, adding a personalized touch to their RS 6 Avant GT. These choices include traditional Audi Sport colours – black, grey, and red – or black and grey tones, complementing the exterior finishes.

    RS Interior

The super estate is equipped with the standard RS design package plus, features a black interior adorned with exclusive red and copper accents. These accents, found on the steering wheel, center console, armrests, and floor mats, including “RS 6 GT” lettering, create a distinctive look. The leather-Dinamica RS bucket seats continue this color scheme with honeycomb stitching in Express red at the seat center and copper on the outer seam, complemented by “RS 6 GT” lettering below the headrests.

    Performance

The RS 6 Avant GT boasts a power-packed 4.0 TFSI V8 engine generating 463kW and 850Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 3.3 seconds, accelerates to 200km/h from a standstill in just 11.5 seconds and the top speed is 305km/h. To elevate the driving experience, Audi has introduced adjustable coilover suspension as standard for the RS 6 Avant GT, along with a specially tuned quattro sport differential on the rear axle. It makes contact to the road with high-performance Continental “Sport Contact 7” tyres for superior grip. As standard, the RS 6 Avant GT features the RS ceramic brake system.

    Attention to detail

Audi says the RS 6 Avant GT is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, with the final assembly carried out by experienced technicians at Böllinger Höfe. Each of the 660 units undergoes a day-long process, with GT-specific features meticulously fitted by hand.

Audi South Africa has confirmed that SA will receive one of these limited-edition RS 6 Avant GT units, set to arrive locally in Q2 2024.
