Porsche unveils updated Taycan: More power, range, and quicker acceleration

Porsche has revealed a comprehensive update for its all-electric Taycan, boasting increased power, extended range, quicker acceleration, and faster charging with enhanced stability. The Turbo models have undergone design refinements for a more distinctive look, and all Taycan versions now feature an upgraded standard equipment list and the latest generation of the Porsche Driver Experience with improved display and control concepts.

    Exterior updates

The Porsche Taycan gets a refreshed look with new front and rear styling, updated headlights and tail lights, and distinctive features like the Turbonite accent color for Turbo and Turbo S models.

    Updated interior

The user interface for the instrument cluster, central display, and optional passenger display for the Porsche Taycan have been updated, and additional functions have been introduced. The steering wheel now includes a standard mode switch, and a push-to-pass button is available for Taycan models with the Sport Chrono package and the Performance Battery Plus.

Increased performance across the model range

The updated models now have faster acceleration compared to their predecessors. Accelerations times have been improved with a 0-100 km/h sprint time of just 4.8 (Taycan) and 2.4 seconds (Taycan Turbo S), making them 0.6 and 0.4 seconds faster than the pre-facelift models.

The introduction of the new push-to-pass function in the Sport Chrono package allows a boost of up to 70 kW for 10 seconds at the touch of a button. The base Taycan now has 60 kW more than its predecessor, while the Taycan Turbo S boasts an additional 140 kW with Launch Control, bringing the top model’s system output to an impressive 700 kW.

    Better charging and range

Depending on driving style and other factors, the charging time from 10 to 80 per cent is significantly reduced compared to the predecessor car. The updated Taycan, with its larger 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus, now takes just 18 minutes, compared to the previous 37 minutes.

When it comes to driving range, it has now expanded to a maximum of 678 km, depending on the body type. This is a notable increase of 175 km or 35 percent compared to the previous model.

    New active chassis

All updated Taycan models come standard with adaptive air suspension, while the Porsche Active Ride suspension is optional for all-wheel-drive versions. Porsche says this system provides an unparalleled balance between driving comfort and dynamics, maintaining a level body during various driving maneuvers.

    Improved equipment and reduced weight

Despite weighing up to 15 kilograms less, the models now come with even more extensive standard equipment, including adaptive air suspension, ParkAssist with a reversing camera, ambient lighting, and other features.
