ISUZU Foundation Donates Over R130,000 to Durban Charities through Ironman4theKidz

The ISUZU Foundation, a collaborative effort between ISUZU Motors South Africa and its Dealer Network, has donated R131,900 to Ironman4theKidz, an official charity organization for the IRONMAN event. This donation will benefit four Durban-based charities: Bobbi Bear, Likhona iThemba, Durban Children and Youth Centre, and the Daily News Milk Fund.

These funds were raised from entries for the ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 Durban event. Each charity focuses on supporting vulnerable children in different ways:

Bobbi Bear, located in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban, aids children who have experienced sexual abuse, working to rescue, represent, and reintegrate them while minimizing their risk of HIV/AIDS.

Likhon’iThemba provides a safe home for children awaiting adoption or reunification.

Durban Child and Youth Care Centre cares for orphans and neglected children.

Daily News Milk and Welfare Fund supplies milk, milk powder, and high-energy porridge to underprivileged children in KwaZulu-Natal.

Alastair Hodgson, ISUZU’s Department Executive for Business Enablement, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to community support: “Through our partnership with Ironman4theKidz, we have made strides to support organizations helping vulnerable members of our society and driving positive change within communities.”

This donation follows R158,000 raised from the ISUZU IRONMAN South Africa African Championship and ISUZU IRONMAN 70.3 in Gqeberha in April 2024, aimed at supporting disadvantaged children in Nelson Mandela Bay.

The ISUZU Foundation has supported over 80 projects with more than R16 million since 2010. This partnership with Ironman4theKidz aligns with ISUZU’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on education, poverty alleviation, hunger alleviation, and creating sustainable environments.
