Audi has expanded its Q8 model range with the introduction of two new high-performance SUVs: the RS Q8 and the RS Q8 Performance. The RS Q8 delivers 441 kW, while the RS Q8 Performance ups the ante with an impressive 471 kW, making it the most powerful series-produced combustion model in Audi Sport GmbH’s history.

    Design and dynamics

Both models feature a new front apron with striking air intakes, a distinctive honeycomb structure, and a high-gloss black blade (matte gray for the RS Q8 Performance). The rear section is equally dynamic, with two oval tailpipes and a central diffuser. The exterior mirrors, front spoiler elements, and rear diffuser come in black for the RS Q8 and matte gray for the RS Q8 Performance.

Driving dynamics are enhanced by a self-locking center differential and an eight-speed Tiptronic transmission. The standard quattro all-wheel drive distributes power to the front and rear axles in a 40:60 ratio, optimizing cornering and stability. The adaptive air suspension sport with controlled damping, standard on both models, adjusts the ride height by up to 90 millimeters.

    Interior and equipment

The interior offers sporty design packages in red, gray, or blue (exclusive to the RS Q8 Performance). Features include perforated sports seats with honeycomb stitching, Alcantara-covered steering wheels, and decorative inlays in various finishes. The RS Q8 Performance also features a 12.3-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus with a shift light indicator, enhancing the driving experience.

    Performance and power

The RS Q8 boasts a twin-turbocharged eight-cylinder engine with 441 kW and 800 Nm of torque, propelling the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, which can be optionally increased to 280 km/h or 305 km/h. The RS Q8 Performance, with its enhanced output of 471 kW and 850 Nm of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. This advanced engine, combined with a newly developed, lighter exhaust system, provides a sportier sound and increased performance.

    Cutting-edge tech

Both versions come with Matrix LED headlights, with optional HD Matrix LED headlights featuring Audi laser light for enhanced visibility. The rear lights are digital OLED, offering five customizable light signatures for a personalized look.

    Record-breaking performance

The RS Q8 Performance has set a new benchmark, becoming the fastest SUV on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife. With a lap time of 7:36.698 minutes, it surpassed the previous record by more than two seconds, thanks to its powerful engine and advanced chassis components.
