Ford South Africa has confirmed that a revised Everest line-up will launch in the first half of 2026. The update brings new engine options, the introduction of a new entry-level Active series, and several specification adjustments across the seven-seat SUV range.

The current XLT grade will be replaced by the new Active series, which is positioned as the new starting point of the line-up. The Everest Active is powered by Ford’s updated 2.0 litre single turbo diesel engine. It produces 125 kW and 405 Nm, and is paired with a 10 speed automatic transmission. Buyers will be able to choose between two wheel drive and part time four wheel drive versions.

Ford has also announced notable powertrain changes to the Everest Sport. The 4×2 model will now use the 2.3 litre EcoBoost four cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 222 kW and 452 Nm. The 4×4 Sport model switches to the 3.0 litre V6 turbodiesel engine delivering 184 kW and 600 Nm, coupled with permanent four wheel drive. This combination was previously limited to higher specification models.

The Wildtrak and Platinum models continue in the range, both retaining the 3.0 litre V6 diesel engine and permanent four wheel drive.

Alongside the powertrain updates, Ford says the entire Everest line-up will receive a selection of specification improvements aimed at enhancing day to day usability for families and regular travellers. Full details will be revealed closer to the vehicle’s local introduction in 2026.
