Mazda Motor Corporation has announced the introduction of its new battery electric vehicle, the Mazda CX-6e, for European, Australian and other markets. The model made its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show in Belgium on 9 January and is expected to launch in Europe this summer, with plans for introduction in Australia later in the year.

The Mazda CX-6e follows the Mazda EZ-60 concept shown at last year’s Shanghai Motor Show and expands Mazda’s global electric vehicle line-up as the second fully electric model after the Mazda 6e. Both models are part of a collaborative battery EV programme with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.

The CX-6e combines Mazda’s design principles with electric powertrain technology developed through the collaboration. It is equipped with a single electric motor producing 190 kW and 290 Nm of torque that drives the rear wheels. Mazda quotes a WLTP-rated driving range of up to 484 kilometres on a single charge from its 78 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack. Charging capabilities include DC fast charging that can replenish the battery from low to high state of charge in a relatively short period under the right conditions.

The CX-6e also features a suite of digital and driver assistance technologies. These include voice and gesture recognition, advanced driver assistance systems and, in some markets, digital side mirrors, all designed to support everyday usability. Mazda says the vehicle’s handling and ride comfort have been tuned with attention to European driving preferences.

The Mazda 6e electric sedan, introduced in Europe last year, has recorded cumulative sales of more than 7,000 units. The CX-6e expands Mazda’s battery electric offering with a crossover body style aimed at a wider range of buyers.

The Mazda CX-6e is scheduled to launch in European markets in summer 2026, followed by planned introductions in Australia and additional regions later in the year.
