Ford Adds All-Wheel Drive to Tourneo Titanium X

Ford South Africa has expanded its premium people-mover line-up with the Ford Tourneo Titanium X AWD, bringing all-wheel-drive capability to its most highly specified Tourneo derivative.

    More traction, same premium package

The new AWD model joins the existing front-wheel-drive Titanium X, keeping its premium specification, comfort and versatility while adding extra traction for a wider range of road and driving conditions.

“The Tourneo combines the space and versatility of a people mover with the comfort, technology and refinement expected of a premium passenger vehicle,” said Ryan Searle, Director of Sales Operations at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa. “With the introduction of the Titanium X AWD, customers now have the added benefit of enhanced traction and confidence.”

    Power and capability

The Tourneo Titanium X AWD is powered by Ford’s 2.0-litre EcoBlue four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 125kW and 390Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The all-wheel-drive system distributes power between the front and rear wheels depending on available grip, helping maintain traction on wet roads, gravel and other low-grip surfaces. Six drive modes — Normal, Eco, Slippery, Tow/Haul, Sport and Trail — add further versatility, making it well suited to road trips and travel beyond paved roads.

    Interior and Seating Layout

The Tourneo Titanium X AWD seats eight occupants, with the interior configurable for different needs. Individual rear seats can be removed for extra load space or turned around to create a rear-facing conference-style layout.

Standard features include leather-appointed seating and powered sliding side doors for easy access to the second and third rows. The exterior is distinguished by 19-inch alloy wheels, AWD badging and Matrix LED headlights.

Buyers can also add two option packs:

    • Lux Pack – heated second-row seats, a 14-speaker B&O sound system and a full-length panoramic moonroof
    • Mobile Office Pack – a stowable tray table, enhanced lighting, laptop/tablet stowage, extra USB ports, an accessory docking slot, an integrated rubbish bin and a steering wheel that converts into a table when the vehicle is parked

    Technology and safety

Inside, infotainment is centred around a 13-inch touchscreen with SYNC 4, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety technology includes Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pre-Collision Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane Centring, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert with Reverse Brake Assist and a 360-degree camera system. Additional features include Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Assist, Exit Warning and Post-Collision Braking, along with a Driver Monitoring System that tracks the driver’s eye and head movements for signs of distraction.

    Pricing

The Ford Tourneo Custom 2.0L SWB Titanium X AWD 8AT is priced at R1,354,100 including VAT.

This includes a six-year/90,000km Ford Optional Service Plan, a four-year/120,000km Ford warranty, four-year/unlimited-distance Roadside Assistance and a five-year/unlimited-distance corrosion warranty. Over-the-counter and service parts are covered for two years/unlimited distance. Service is recommended every 15,000km or annually, whichever comes first.
