Ford has revealed its updated Everest hot on the heels of the reveal of the updated Ford Ranger. As with the Ranger, the Everest gains all-new 2.0 Bi-Turbo and Single Turbo engines that are matched to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Current 2.2 and 3.2 TDCi engines continue on selected models.

The refreshed grille features three distinctive grille bars and the lower bumper has been redesigned.

New 20-inch wheels have been introduced on the range-topping Everest Limited. They feature a split spoke design.  A new Diffused Silver exterior body colour has been added to the line-up.

Inside, a new crafted gear shifter design has been introduced for the all-new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Under the hood, the Everest sees the introduction of an all-new 157 kW/500 Nm 2.0 Bi-Turbo engine (10kW and 30Nm more compared to the existing 3.2-litre TDCi engine) and a new 2.0-litre Single Turbo engine with 132kW/420Nm. The former engine is available in the Everest XLT 4×2 and 4×4 models, as well as the top-spec Everest Limited whereas the latter engine is offered in the XLT 4×2 specification. The new-generation 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo and 2.0 Single Turbo engines are exclusively available with Ford’s all-new 10-speed automatic.  This transmission is said to offer improvements in efficiency, fuel economy and all-round performance.

On the technology and safety side, Ford has introduced Passive Entry and Passive Start (PEPS) system, fitted as standard on the XLT and Limited models. The keyless entry and passive start uses an intelligent access system that allows the driver to unlock the vehicle and start the engine without removing the key fob from their pocket or bag. When the key is in the vehicle, the driver simply presses the Start/Stop button while applying the brake pedal to start the car.
