    New 2020 Isuzu D-Max revealed!

Isuzu has taken covers off its all-new 2020 D-Max bakkie. The major news is that the 3,0 litre turbo-diesel lives on but gets a hike in power from 130kW/430Nm to 140kW/450Nm.

    Exterior

The new exterior is done from ground up but the flavours from the current shape are evident on the side profile. The brief to designers was probably to go for a middle ground approach that will appease the base whilst attracting a new following. In terms of looks, the grille migrates to a single-frame shape whereas the bumper is stretched out to incorporate a total of four spot lamps (two on either side). New shaped LED lights complete the fresh new front look.

At the back, a new LED light design and the new integrated rear bumper stand out.

    Interior

A glimpse of the interior reveals a whole new bakkie. A more upmarket look is adopted. The top spec model dumps the floating screen for a mature 9-inch infotainment screen that is integrated into the dash. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is also part of the deal.

    Safety

New active and passive safety features such as s rear cross-traffic alert, blind zone warning and autonomous emergency braking are expected to feature in the new Isuzu D-Max.

    Engine

As stated above, the tried and tested turbo-diesel mill soldiers on albeit with more power. A twin turbo 1.9-litre engine, with power details yet to be announced, is said to be also joining the range.

Local availability is yet to be announced.
