Volkswagen T-Roc is coming to SA

Following the recent announcement by Volkswagen SA that the T-Cross is headed our way, the manufacturer has confirmed that the T-Roc is also coming to SA.

Slotting below the Tiguan, the T-Roc features two-tone paintwork, a sloping roofline, and much bigger wheel arches.

In terms of engines, Volkswagen isn’t clear which engines will be powering the T-Cross but we speculate it will feature some of the Tiguan’s. European markets are getting an 85 kW 1-litre and 110kW 1.5-litre turbo petrol engines, and 85kW 1.6 and 110kW or 140kW 2.0 TDI turbodiesels.

It remains to be seen if the T-Roc R will also be part of the local line-up, if so, it will feature a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with 221kW and 400Nm.

Power will likely be sent to the front wheels with other trims to get the 4Motion AWD system.

More news about its arrival in SA to be announced.
