    Jaguar I-Pace facelifted

Electric vehicles may have not grabbed the imagination of many South Africans due to a number of factors but they are gaining traction all over the world. The Jaguar I-Pace has just been handed a facelift to keep up with the competition from likes of Tesla, Audi and a handful of others. There are minor changes outside with most changes taking place inside, including a quicker home charger that is now standard.

The I-Pace becomes the first Jaguar to feature the new Pivi Pro infotainment system with enhanced EV navigation that can show you if nearby charging stations are available or in use, what they cost, and how long it will take to charge. The last bit market-dependent of course. The system also offers a wireless device charging pad and Bluetooth paring for up to two devices.

To make home charging easy, the I-PACE now comes with an 11kW on-board charger as standard which allows a full charge in about 8.6 hours down from 11 hours.

An interesting new interior feature is the cabin air ionisation which comes with a PM2.5 filtration system to capture ultrafine airborne particles and allergens. Jaguar says the I-PACE can even filter its cabin air before a journey begins.

Little has been done on the exterior design which is only enhanced with a new Atlas Grey grille tip finish. There are new paint options, wheels, and a new Bright Pack option, available on all models in the I-PACE range.

The new colours include Caldera Red, Portofino Blue and Eiger Grey. The Bright Pack comes with a Noble Chrome grille surround, Atlas Grey door mirror caps, Satin Chrome window surrounds and Atlas Grey for the rear diffuser.

New 19-inch wheels replace 18-inch wheels as standard equipment on S models in select markets.
