Nissan has revealed an updated version of its go-anywhere Patrol. The updated Patrol includes Nissan’s V-motion grille along with new boomerang-shaped LED headlights. The headlight design housing is also incorporated into the bumper design giving the Patrol a wider and imposing stance.

At the back, the Patrol’s new taillights also sport the boomerang shape. They are integrated along with a large chrome nameplate and sequential rear turn indicators, which have been added for the first time on a Nissan vehicle.

Machine-cut 18” alloy wheels round off the updated exterior look.

    Inside

Inside, the updated Nissan Patrol coming to Mzansi misses out on a new center console that incorporates dual displays featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Nevertheless, a plusher environment is offered courtesy of new diamond-stitch quilted leather seats with added padding. Nissan claims to have made the cabin quieter by reducing the noise and vibration that is able to make its way inside the cabin. Additionally, Nissan has improved cooling and air flow distribution systems for quicker cooling which is ideal in hot climates that the Patrol often finds itself in.

    Power

Although the Patrol is offered with a V6 and a V8 engine in some markets, South Africans will have to settle for just the V8. Not an entirely thing as the tried and tested 5.6-liter V8 mill produces 298 kW of power and 560 Nm of torque.

The starting price for the updated Nissan Patrol is R1,515,700.
