Renault has revealed the all-new Kangoo with a bold appearance, new technologies, and a selection of two separate models, the Kangoo Van and the Express Van. The Kangoo range will include both passenger and light commercial vehicle (LCV) options. Renault has not disclosed all the details about its new LCV, but here is what we know so far.

    Design

The new Kangoo incorporates Renault’s new design identity, a bold logo contrasted against a black grille and more tapered headlights. The front bumper, bonnet and front wings have been reshaped to provide a sturdier impression.

    Line-up

Renault divides the new Kangoo range into two distinct model lines. The Kangoo, available as a passenger van and a cargo LCV. The Express, also available in both passenger and cargo versions, is the more affordable offering mainly for the markets outside Europe. It is aimed at young entrepreneurs for mixed professional and family use.

The new Kangoo features the new Easy Side Access system, which improves the accessibility to the cargo area and makes things convenient. Renault indicates that the new Kangoo Van has the widest side access on the market with 1,416 mm, which is roughly twice the size of its previous Kangoo. The available configurations in terms of dimensions – two lengths with a useful cargo volume between 3.3 and 4.9 cubic meters depending on the wheelbase.

Renault has not released exact information about the powertrain range, but it is anticipated that the new Kangoo should arrive in petrol, diesel, and purely electric versions with manual and automatic transmissions, depending on the engine.

The Express Van, in turn, offers similar loading capabilities but dressed in more robust and simplified clothes. Again, no exact details about the engine range are available but we expect this more affordable version to be offered only with combustion engines. The new Kangoo will be manufactured at Renault’s Maubeuge factory in France, while the Express range will be assembled in Morocco

It is anticipated that the new Kangoo range will make its way to the market in 2021.
