Porsche is celebrating the 25th birthday of the Boxster with a special anniversary model: the Boxster 25 Years. The limited-edition Boxster 25 Years will be restricted to 1,250 units worldwide and it is based on the GTS 4.0 model, which is powered by a 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine with 294kW. Having launched in 1996 and currently in its fourth generation, the Boxster has enjoyed much success with more than 357,000 units delivered globally.

    Exterior

The Boxster 25 Years limited edition has reinterpreted the use of the Neodyme colour (a copper-like shimmering brown colour, which provided an exciting contrast to the basic GT Silver Metallic colour on the 1993). The colour is used on the front apron, the side air intakes with mono bar as well as for the lettering and the two-tone 20-inch alloy wheels in the anniversary model. The Boxster 25 Years will be offered in GT Silver Metallic although Deep Black Metallic and Carrara White Metallic are also available. The fuel filler cap is enhanced with an aluminium look as do the high-gloss tailpipes of the sports exhaust system while the windscreen surround is finished in contrasting black.

    Interior

Inside, the anniversary edition combines a bordeaux leather interior with a red fabric convertible top (it is also available in black). The convertible top bears embossed Boxster 25 lettering. The Boxster 25 Years has 14-way electrically adjustable sports seats, door sill trims with Boxster 25 lettering and the heated GT multifunction sports leather steering wheel.

    Engine

The anniversary edition is powered by the 4.0-litre flat-six engine which pushes out 294 kW of power and 420 Nm, and is paired with a manual six-speed transmission or a seven-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission. The special-edition model reaches a top speed of 293 km/h and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.

    Availability

The new Boxster 25 Years is available to order now. First units are expected to arrive in the market end of April 2021.

I just picked up my 2021 718 GTS last week and drove it today with the top down. I generally prefer a coup but this ride could easily change my mind. The 718 GTS is a marvelous car through and through.
The only problem is having to wait to reach 2k miles before really opening it up.
