Honda South Africa has expanded the range of the recently facelifted FIT with the addition of two model derivatives, namely Comfort and Elegance. The Executive trim level, which was previously available on the pre-facelift model, has been discontinued. Like the new range-topping FIT eHEV, the Comfort and Elegance trim levels get sporty new looks, enhanced specification levels and Honda’s Sensing advanced driver assistance systems.

Honda FIT Comfort and Elegance standard features

A host of advanced features including LED headlights and Daytime Running lights, front and rear parking sensors, smart keyless entry, Honda’s flagship 9-inch HMI Infotainment system, and Honda Sensing are now standard features across the model range.

The FIT Elegance variant also adds a new wireless smartphone charger to the aforementioned specification enhancements.

Standard Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance systems

Honda Sensing is Honda’s suite of comprehensive advanced driver assistance systems. This suite offers a broad range of driver assistance features and aids as standard, thanks to a front wide-view camera with a broader field of vision and night-time operation, increasing safety in more situations. These enhanced technologies include collision mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, road departure mitigation system and auto high-beam.

    Performance

Powering the FIT Comfort and Elegance derivatives is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine developing 89kW/145Nm and paired with a CVT gearbox. It has a 40-litre fuel tank and Honda claims it has a maximum fuel range of 727km.

    Pricing and warranty

    FIT 1.5 Comfort CVT – R379,900

    FIT 1.5 Elegance CVT – R415,900

    FIT 1.5 Hybrid eCVT – R544,900

The refreshed FIT range comes standard with a 5-year / 200,000km Warranty, a 4-year / 60,000km service plan, and 3 years of AA roadside assistance included in the retail price. The FIT Hybrid grade includes an additional extended warranty of 8-year / 200,000km covering the Lithium-ion battery and other related components of the Hybrid system.
