BMW has revealed a new top model of the X2 series in South Africa. The new BMW X2 M35i features a 225 kW 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The 2-litre TwinPower Turbo engine is the very first M Performance four-cylinder engine and at the same time BMW’s most powerful version. It delivers a 225 kW of power and 450 Nm of torque. The BMW X2 M35i is able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds with a claimed combined fuel consumption of 7.4 l/100 km. The engine is paired with an 8-speed Steptronic transmission and power goes to all four wheels with xDrive technology. You’ll also get Launch Control to ensure you really reach that claimed 4.9 second in 100 km/h sprint.

To enhance performance and enjoyment the BMW X2 M35i has been gifted with a sport suspension system (an adaptive suspension offering two different manually adjustable modes is also optionally available), an M Sport differential, an upgrade braking system, an M sports steering and a redesigned rear axle.

Inside drivers can look forward to an M Sport leather steering wheel with shift paddles and the optional M sports seats. Matching seatbelts in an M design are also on offer.

Outside double kidney grille in Cerium Grey and the newly designed side air intakes of the same colour at the front set the X2 M35i apart. The exterior mirrors have been upgraded by special caps, also in Cerium Grey. At the rear, the X2 M35i has a distinctive M rear spoiler and an M Sport exhaust system with two tailpipes (each 100 mm in diameter). 19-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 715M styling are standard with 20-inch M Sport light alloy wheels in 721M styling and in Cerium Grey bicolour available as an optional extra.

Pricing for the BMW X2 M35i starts from R809,100.
