    BMW reveals the new M8

    By Staff Reporter

There is no rest in Bavaria. Hot on the heels of the reveal of the new 1 series and the updated X1, BMW has taken covers off the all new M8.

The M8 will come in four different flavours; the M8 Coupe, Convertible, Coupe Competition and the Convertible Competition. Under the hood of the M8 will be BMW’s powerful twin-turbocharged 4.4 V8 engine. This will make 441 kW and 750 Nm of torque in the M8 Coupe and Convertible whilst it will kick out 460 kW and 750Nm in the Coupe Competition and the Convertible Competition.

The hefty engine will be paired with an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission that will transfer the power to all four wheels. The standard M8 Coupe and Convertible will complete the 0-100kph sprint in 3,3 and 3,4 seconds while the Competition will do it in 3.2 and 3,3 seconds respectively.

Just like the M850i, which comes in all-wheel-drive the M8 will also come in the xDrive all-wheel-drive for more grip in different driving situations. In terms of design the M8 will be noticeable by a more aggressive front and black big kidney grille and the 20-inch M-specific wheels, while on the inside there are leather seats with M Sport insignia on them and prominent M logos across the cabin.

The M8 is due for release in the fourth quarter locally.
