    Kia adds 1.5 CRDI diesel engine to Seltos range

    The Kia Seltos was launched late last year and quickly became the brand’s best-selling car locally. Kia has added a diesel variant to add more options in the range and hopefully score more sales.   

    The new Seltos CRDI is powered by Kia’s new-generation 1,493cc UII common-rail direct injection engine featuring a variable geometry turbocharger. This new engine delivers 86 kW of power and 250 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h is completed in 11,5 seconds with a top speed of 176 km/h. Fuel consumption is a claimed combined 5,1l/100km in the manual variant wgilts it sits 5,7l/100 km in the automatic options.

    The new Kia Seltos CRDI diesel is available in a choice of two specification levels that mirror its petrol-powered siblings. EX models are available with a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission, while EX+ models are only available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
