BMW has confirmed that the First Edition variants of the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition will be available to the South African market in the first half of 2021. The First Edition will be available in limited numbers with production being set at 250 vehicles of each model.

    Exterior

The First Edition models will come with the BMW Individual Frozen Dark Silver special paint finish which is exclusively available for the special-edition models of the X5 M and X6 M Competition.  Other paint options include the BMW Individual Frozen Marina Bay Blue special paint finish. This exterior shade is one of the BMW special finishes now available ex-factory for the BMW X5 M Competition, BMW X6 M Competition, BMW X5, BMW X6 and BMW X7. The First Edition models will each ride on 21-inch front and 22-inch rear wheels with a star-spoke design and a Jet-Black finish. Completing the exterior look are the carbon fiber reinforced plastic accents complemented by an M-branded carbon engine cover.

    Interior

Inside, the cabin gets the BMW Individual Merino full leather trim in exclusive bi-colour Silverstone/Midnight Blue; Black Alcantara inserts in the seat bolsters and contrast stitching in Sakhir Orange on the door panel trim and instrument panel. The interior also features special adornments fitting of a special edition vehicle such as Carbon Fibre interior trim strips available in a special, market-specific design; and the silver-coloured “First Edition 1/250” lettering – which is applied to the carbon-fibre strip.

    Engine and Power

The First Edition models are both powered by the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine which pushes out 460kW of power and 750 Nm of torque. Both models send the output to the xDrive system through a quick-shifting ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. The BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition models can sprint from 0-100km/h in just 3.7 seconds.

The First Edition variants of the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition will be available to the South African market in the first half of 2021.
