Just last month the new Audi A3 was unveiled. Fast forward nearly a month later, and Audi has taken the veil off their new and more powerful S3 model.

    Styling

At the front, the frameless hexagonal Singleframe grille is wider and flatter, complemented by angular side air intakes. At the back, it gets a redesigned rear bumper and glossy black rear apron with distinctive L-wings add to the car’s visual appeal. The S3 features the iconic four tailpipes and Audi offers an optional performance exhaust system for a more sporty exhaust note. The colour palette features new metallic finishes, including District Green and Ascari Blue.

    Interior

The interior of the Audi S3 has been has received a nip and tuck. The changes include redesigned shifters, air vents, fabric inlays, and lighting. The S3 comes standard with ambient lighting which adds subtle accents throughout the cabin, while a standout feature is the laser-cut fabric panel on the front doors, illuminated to create a dynamic lighting effect. The interior features a sophisticated color scheme with silver accents, along with standard amenities like artificial leather armrests and two-zone air conditioning.

    Performance

The upgraded S3 model has a bit more poke. It now produces 245 kW and 420 Nm of torque. With enhancements to the 2.0 TFSI engine, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. The engine and transmission have been fine-tuned for improved performance to provide strong pulling power and swift acceleration. Additionally, the seven-speed S tronic transmission offers quicker gearshifts and increased responsiveness.

The torque splitter, previously featured in the RS 3, is now integrated into the S3 model, improving maneuverability and stability. The system allows for flexible torque distribution between the rear wheels, achieved through electronically controlled multi-disc clutches on each driveshaft.

    Stopping power and grippier tyres

The S3 has been equipped with larger ventilated brake disks on the front axle, which are perforated to provide a visual highlight. The 18-inch steel brake now measures 357 mm in diameter and, at 34 mm, is four mm thicker than before.

The Audi S3 is equipped with 18-inch 225/40 tyres as standard. Optionally, two 19-inch 235/35 tires are offered, which include performance tyres designed for enhanced dry handling and braking performance. A new addition to the lineup is the inclusion of sports tyres from Falken. Audi says the Falken Label D tyres will ensure precise handling across all speeds.
