Mitsubishi is giving its popular Triton a special treatment with the introduction of the Triton Shogun, offering a range of unique touches and additional functional equipment. This limited-edition model is expected to attract enthusiasts looking for not only rugged looks but off-road prowess.

    Styling

Based on the Triton 4×4 Automatic model, the Shogun boasts distinctive features such as a black front bumper garnish, headlight covers, and matt black front fog light covers. Roof rails finished in a matching dark hue, a bespoke Shogun sports bar over the load bin with a tonneau cover and tailgate lock, as well as rear lights with matt black covers, further enhance its unique appearance. Additionally, a tow bar comes as standard, with an optional matching nudge bar available.

    Interior

Inside, the Triton Shogun features a leather steering wheel, parking brake, and floor console with black and red stitching. The leather seats and door trim are also adorned with red leather stitching, adding to its premium feel. It also features a Sony car audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring functionality.

    Powertrain

Powering the Triton Shogun is Mitsubishi’s reliable 2.4L DOHC MIVEC diesel engine, delivering 133kW and 430Nm. The motor is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring Intelligent Shift Control.

    Enhanced off-road capability

Mitsubishi says the Triton offers remarkable off-road capabilities, particularly in the Shogun model, which comes with Dunlop A/T 265/60R18 all-terrain tires mounted on black alloy wheels. Mitsubishi’s Super Select II 4WD offers selectable off-road modes that improve traction and engine performance. With a ground clearance of 220mm and impressive approach and departure angles, the Triton seems well-prepared to tackle a variety of terrains.

    Pricing

    Triton 2.4L DI-DC A/T 4×4 Shogun – R809,990

The Triton Shogun is covered by Mitsubishi’s manufacturer’s warranty of three years or 100 000km, a five-year/90 000km service plan and five-year/unlimited mileage roadside assistance.
