iCAUR, a new energy vehicle (NEV) brand under the Chery Group, has officially announced its entry into the South African market. The brand plans to launch its first products and retail network in the first quarter of 2026, following its local debut at the 2025 Festival of Motoring.

Established in 2023, iCAUR positions itself as a mobility brand that blends clean energy technology with distinctive design and a lifestyle-oriented approach. Backed by the Chery Group, the brand aims to support the global shift towards smarter, greener transport and will mark its African debut in South Africa.

According to iCAUR South Africa, the brand’s upcoming range of vehicles will focus on making electric mobility more engaging and accessible to local consumers. Plans are underway to establish a national dealership network, with the goal of opening 15 dealerships across major cities by the time of launch.

Internationally, iCAUR has gained attention for its design-led philosophy and intelligent electric vehicle platforms. The brand’s global strategy includes creating new vehicle segments, encouraging user interaction and co-creation, and offering a broader lifestyle ecosystem that extends beyond the car itself.

Locally, iCAUR says it will cater to South Africa’s growing interest in alternative energy vehicles and dynamic lifestyles. Final details regarding the vehicle lineup, pricing, and product specifications will be shared closer to the official launch.
