Volvo Car South Africa has announced it will introduce four new electrified vehicles over the next year. The upcoming models include the EX30 Cross Country, updated versions of the XC60 and XC90, and the all-electric ES90 sedan.

These product introductions follow the local launch of the EX90 and signal the brand’s continued focus on electrification in the local market. The rollout will take place under the leadership of newly appointed Managing Director Grant Locke.

    EX30 Cross Country

The EX30 Cross Country will arrive in the third quarter of 2025. Based on the current EX30 electric SUV, this version features raised ground clearance and revised styling. It offers a WLTP-estimated range of 427 km and is aimed at drivers looking for added capability and versatility.

    XC60 and XC90

Refreshed versions of the XC60 and XC90 will follow. Updates include new exterior styling, revised interiors, and a new 11.2-inch touchscreen with Volvo’s latest infotainment system. Both models will be available locally with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

    ES90

The ES90 is expected in early 2026. It will be fully electric and built on the same platform as the EX90. Volvo estimates a driving range of up to 700 km. Key features include LiDAR-based safety systems and a Google-integrated infotainment system, along with a focus on interior space and comfort.

These four models form part of Volvo’s global plan to grow its electric vehicle offering, with South Africa remaining part of that strategy.
