When thoughts of a fire-breathing V8 come to mind, AMG is often one of the first names associated with performance. Now, with electrification shaping the future of the brand, AMG says the second-generation AMG GT 4-Door Coupé is intended to “herald a new dimension in performance.”
The new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé introduces a new level of performance through its advanced powertrain and high-performance battery technology. Power comes from three axial-flux electric motors, producing a peak output of 860kW (1,169hp). The result is a claimed 0-200km/h time of 6.4 seconds and a driving range of up to 696km.
The line-up includes the GT 55 4MATIC+, which produces 600kW (816hp), while the flagship GT 63 4MATIC+ increases performance further with a peak output of 860kW (1,169hp). This allows the GT 63 to accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 2.1 seconds and from 0-200km/h in 6.4 seconds.

Inside, occupants are greeted by a digital-focused cabin layout. The interior features a 10.2-inch instrument cluster, a 14.0-inch multimedia display, and an additional 14.0-inch passenger display. Above, a one-piece “SKY CONTROL” panoramic glass roof adds to the open feel of the cabin. The centre console follows a driver-focused layout, featuring a metal-look winglet aligned with the central display. The controls are positioned for ease of reach and usability.
One of the vehicle’s key innovations is its direct cooling system, designed to maintain optimal battery performance under demanding driving conditions.
Charging capability is equally notable. With compatible charging infrastructure, the battery can support charging speeds of over 600kW. Mercedes-AMG claims the vehicle can gain approximately 460km of range in just 10 minutes, while charging from 10% to 80% takes around 11 minutes.

At the core of the vehicle is an advanced powertrain featuring three axial-flux electric motors, two mounted on the rear axle and one on the front. These motors operate through Mercedes-AMG’s High Performance Electric Drive Units (HP.EDU), delivering rapid response and high levels of performance.
More than just a luxury electric vehicle, the new Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé represents Mercedes-AMG’s approach to performance in the electric era.
