Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has expanded its Amarok range with the introduction of the new Amarok Dark Label, a derivative that adds a blacked-out styling package to the existing Amarok Style.

Unveiled in Johannesburg on 8 June 2026, the Dark Label joins the Amarok line-up as a design-focused variant aimed at buyers looking for a more distinctive appearance.

Based on the Amarok Style derivative, the Dark Label features several black exterior accents, including matte-black 20-inch alloy wheels, a black front grille, black underbody protection, and black side lettering.

The styling package extends to the rest of the vehicle, with black roof rails, exterior mirrors, side steps, and door handles complemented by privacy glass and darkened rear windows. At the rear, the Dark Label receives a black bumper, darkened taillights, a matte-black styling bar, and a black tailgate handle.

Inside, the cabin features dark ArtVelours seats, black door panels, an Ebony Black headliner, and a matching centre console. A leather multifunction steering wheel with a Dark Label emblem and branded velour floor mats complete the interior updates.

Customers can choose between two engine options. The first is Volkswagen’s 2.0-litre TDI four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 125kW and 405Nm of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.

Buyers looking for additional performance can opt for the 3.0-litre TDI V6 diesel engine, which produces 184kW and 600Nm. Like the four-cylinder model, it is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

Both derivatives have a claimed top speed of 180km/h.
