INEOS Grenadier is a boxy utilitarian off-road 4×4 which was revealed to the world back in 2020. You might say that the Grenadier is a carbon copy of Land Rover’s old Defender 110. Well, the short back-story is that the founder, billionaire Sir James Arthur Ratcliffe’s, decided to build his own purpose-built, rugged 4×4 after Land Rover denied him the rights to the design of the old Land Rover Defender.

    Exterior

As mentioned above, the new Grenadier is boxy utilitarian 4×4 with round headlights, angular sides with a functional belt line allowing owners to attach loads or accessories, a spare wheel attached to the trunk lid, a small door at the rear for easy loading of smaller items and a ladder for easy access to the roof. The Grenadier comes with roof bars and roof strips to enable loads to be mounted and secured directly without a roof rack. A wide range of options and accessories will be available to allow all versions to be customized.

    Interior

As rugged and retro as it looks, Ineos promises the Grenadier will be comfortable and meet the expectations of 21st century consumers in terms of equipment levels and safety systems.

    Performance

Powering the British utilitarian will be a BMW sourced six cylinder petrol and diesel engines mated to a ZF transmission. The Grenadier will be equipped with permanent all-wheel drive system, a two-speed transfer case and centre locking differential included as standard.

    Availability

INEOS says order books, online configurator and customer contact centre all go live on 18 May. The British automaker adds that the new Grenadier will have a comprehensive aftersales package to provide customers with total peace-of-mind – Five years / 100,000 km warranty.
