Leapmotor has introduced the B10 Hybrid EV in South Africa. It joins the C10 Hybrid EV as the brand’s second local model, with orders opening on 18 August 2026.
The B10 is a compact SUV that uses a range-extender system. It is driven by a 158 kW electric motor, while its 1.5-litre petrol engine is used solely to generate electricity when the battery runs low. The engine does not drive the wheels.

It has an 18.8 kWh battery and can travel up to 86 km on electricity alone, according to Leapmotor. With a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, the company claims a total driving range of up to 900 km. Claimed combined fuel consumption is 0.9 litres per 100 km.
Inside, the cabin includes a 14.6-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Leapmotor phone app allows owners to check the battery level and remaining range, lock or unlock the vehicle, control the air conditioning, schedule charging and receive software updates.
Buyers can choose from five exterior colours and two interior themes. The launch colour is Starry Night Blue.

Safety equipment includes seven airbags and 17 driver-assistance features. Leapmotor says the B10 has a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
