Suzuki Auto South Africa has announced a major new partnership with Orlando Pirates Football Club, becoming the team’s official vehicle partner for the next two years.

The deal also sees Suzuki take on the role of Official Premium Sleeve Partner, with its logo now proudly featured on the sleeves of the Buccaneers’ playing kit.

“We are honoured to align with a club that shares our values of excellence, resilience, and community,” says Henno Havenga, GM of Auto Sales and Marketing at Suzuki SA. “This is about more than branding – it’s about connecting with South Africans through the power of football.”

Orlando Pirates, founded in 1937, is one of the country’s most successful and beloved clubs, with nine PSL titles and 13 MTN 8 wins. The partnership builds on that legacy while deepening Suzuki’s ties to local sport and community development.

“Our supporters are at the heart of everything we do,” says Thandi Merafe, Media and PR Manager at Orlando Pirates. “Suzuki understands the importance of local connection and national pride – values that match ours perfectly.”

This isn’t Suzuki’s first step into SA sport. Earlier this year, it partnered with Cricket South Africa, and it’s also involved in grassroots rugby and community programmes across the country.

“Sport has a unique power to unite and uplift,” says Havenga. “We’re excited to kick off this journey with the mighty Buccaneers. Once a Pirate, always a Pirate. Up the Bucs!”
