Mercedes-Benz South Africa has introduced the Mercedes-Maybach SL Monogram Series to the local market, bringing Maybach luxury to the SL roadster for the first time.

Priced at R5,092,000, the Maybach SL Monogram Series is available in two curated design concepts at launch: “Red Ambience” and “White Ambience”. Red Ambience combines Obsidian Black metallic with MANUFAKTUR Garnet Red metallic, while White Ambience pairs Obsidian Black with MANUFAKTUR Opalite White Magno.

The exterior features several Maybach-specific design elements, including an illuminated chrome grille with integrated MAYBACH lettering, an upright Mercedes star on the bonnet, and a chrome fin running down the centre of the bonnet. Aerodynamic scoops positioned behind the seats further distinguish the model from the standard SL range.

Inside, the cabin is trimmed in Crystal White MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather, with silver chrome accents and redesigned comfort seats. The soft top also features an integrated Maybach pattern designed to link the exterior and interior styling themes.

Power comes from a 4.0-litre biturbo V8 engine producing 430kW, paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission and Mercedes-Benz’s fully variable 4MATIC+ all-wheel-drive system.

The Maybach SL Monogram Series also features Maybach-specific suspension tuning, semi-active hydraulic roll stabilisation, rear-axle steering, additional sound insulation, and a noise-optimised exhaust system aimed at improving refinement and ride comfort.

The vehicle comes standard with a 5-year/100,000km service and maintenance plan.
