Aggressive Mazda CX-30 revealed at Geneva

Mazda is set to add a new member in its crossover line-up in the future as its new CX-30 has been revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.

Slotting between the CX-3 and CX-5, it features a somewhat more restrained and more aggressive look than its CX siblings with a more conservative approach to the Kodo design language.

It’s built on the same Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture that also underpins the current Mazda 3. In terms of dimensions, it is longer and wider than the CX-3 with 4,395 mm in length, 1,795 width and boasts a wheelbase of 2,655 mm.

When it reaches production, it will come with petrol and diesel engines mated to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox. The petrol engines will also feature Mazda’s M Hybrid mild-hybrid system for improved efficiency.

There are no performance figures at the moment but what we know is that power of the new member will be sent to all four wheels through the company’s i-Activ AWD system with GVC Plus.

A word about local availability still remains a mystery but Mazda is closely monitoring our crossover-crazy market.
